KYOCERA AVX offers multilayer ceramic capacitors for automotive and industrial equipment.

The FLEXITERM^® soft termination multilayer ceramic capacitor is a product that has been designed to enhance resistance to substrate deflection, which is crucial for automotive applications.

While conventional MLCCs have a resistance to deflection of 2mm, KYOCERA AVX's FLEXITERM^® utilizes conductive resin for the electrodes, ensuring a 5mm deflection resistance.

Internal structure

Substrate bending test: FLEXITERM^® guarantees 5mm of resistance compared to 3mm or less for normal electrodes.
The temperature cycle test was executed successfully, with no failures observed up to 3,000 cycles and no change in performance.
Withstands great mechanical stress and will fail in open mode when the limit is exceeded.
Battery direct connection line, suitable for 1206 size (EIA) and above

Substrate Bending Test

The soft termination product is significantly more resistant to substrate deflection than the general X7R.
