SAW Device Solutions for Smart Meters
Introducing Kyocera’s “SAW Filter 915MHz/925MHz,” which is used in smart meters and is compatible with Low Power Wide Area / Power Saving Wide Area Network (LPWA) communication standards.
Overview
Smart meters are being deployed around the world to enable efficient energy management by installing communication functions in various meters for electricity, gas, and water to monitor energy use in real time.
The frequency bands used for wireless communications vary by region, but the 915 MHz band introduced here is widely used in the United States, while the 925 MHz band is used in Japan, where demand is expected to grow for the rapidly expanding smart meter market.
Features
- Small size
The small size of only 1.4 x 1.1 mm contributes to the miniaturization of devices. - Low Loss and high attenuation
Kyocera's unique SAW technology achieves low loss and high attenuation characteristics.
