Capacitance Comparison

SuperCapacitors have very high capacitance values compared to other capacitors such as MLCC (ceramic capacitors), tantalum capacitors, and aluminum electrolytic capacitors.

 

KYOCERA AVX has developed and mass-produced this type of SuperCapacitor, a cylindrical type capable of rapid charging and discharging, which can be used as a backup for various types of batteries. It may also be possible to replace lithium-ion batteries.

  • Charging/discharging time is shorter than that of batteries.
  • Less degradation due to charge/discharge.

Achieves Long Life and Low ESR in Low-Temperature Ranges

KYOCERA AVX Cylindrical type SuperCapacitors use acetonitrile (ACN) base electrolytes to ensure long life and lower the ESR value while operating in low-temperature ranges.
