Kyocera has developed a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) for automotive communications applications.

Overview

Our TCXOs are  AEC-Q100/200 Grade 2 compliant, making them suitable for use in automotive communications applications. Kyocera’s TCXOs feature frequency stability over a wide temperature range of ±0.5 ppm from -40 to +105 °C.

TCXOs are ideal for in-vehicle communications such as C-V2X, DSRC, Wi-Fi, GNSS (GPS), and UWB.

What is C-V2X?
It stands for “Cellular Vehicle to Everything.” It is a communication technology that enables communication not only among vehicles but also between vehicles and everything else, including road infrastructure and equipment owned by pedestrians.

 

What is DSRC?
It stands for “Dedicated Short Range Communications,” this technology facilitates two-way radio communication between an automobile and an RSU. It is designed for use in a variety of situations, including cashless payments at parking lots, gas stations, drive-through stores, and logistics management.

 

What is UWB?
It stands for “Ultra Wide Band,” it is a type of wireless communication used for in-vehicle applications, smart keys, etc.
